1. Achievements in Fiscal Year 2010

(1) To establish Network database

�@ Dispatched a committee member related to the project “International expansion of the technology of human waste treatment, a commissioned research by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan. And we created a database and a network concerning human waste treatment system and human resourse based on the outcome of the research activities by Japan Education Center of Environmental Sanitation.

�A Mr. Nakano (Sanitation Expert) attended the Regional workshop on Eco-efficient Water Infrastructure and Regional Dialogue on Waste Management in Asia and Pacific organized by UNESCAP on 15-16 of June, 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

�B “Regional workshop on improvement of sanitation issues in Asia” was held and participants discussed the problems required to be solved concerning sanitation issues in Asian countries.

(2) Public Relations for JSC activities

�@ Publicized the JSC's research activities at the National Convention for Environmental Sanitation, organized by JESC.

�A Publicized the JSC's research activities at the "Interaqua Exhibition 2011"

�B Publicized the JSC's research activities at the “Regional workshop on improvement of sanitation issues in Asia”.

(3) Setting up a website

JSC’s website was launched.

(4) Research activity

�@　Participated in the collaborative research project with National Institute for Environmental Studies and other research institutes such as universities.

�A　Research for possibility to apply “On-site Wastewater Treatment System including decentralized wastewater treatment system” in Jakarta, Indonesia.

2. Project planning for Fiscal year 2011

(1) To establish Network database

�@To dispatch a committee member related to the project “International expansion of the technology of human waste treatment, a commissioned research by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan. To update a database and a network based on the outcome of the research activities by Japan Education Center of Environmental Sanitation.

�ADispatch the JSC employees to the International conferences
･ DMC Sanitation Dialogue,23-24 May,2011 Manila, Philippines, organized by ADB 　　
･IWA-DEWATS for urban environments in Asia, 25-28, May 2011, Manila in Philippines held by IWA（related to the WB,ADB）
･The forth IWA -Asia, Pacific Regional Conference, 26 October ,2011 at Tokyo International Forum 　　　
・The Sixth Worldwide Water Forum,12-17,March 2012, Marseille, France 　　

�BTo held“Regional workshop on improvement of sanitation issues in Asia”, a commissioned task by the Ministry of the Environment, Japan. The participants will discuss the problems required to be solved about sanitation issues in Asian countries.

�C To conduct feasibility study on implementation of on-site treatment system and training for counter parts relating to the project for capacity development of wastewater sector through reviewing the wastewater management master plan in DKI Jakarta.
